Gargleblaster updated (again)
One definition says, “A blog is a frequently updated, personal Web site featuring diary-type commentary and links to articles or other Web sites. Blogs range from the personal to the political, and can focus on one narrow subject or a whole range of subjects. Blogs are unique to the Web.”
sigh…
I hate to admit it, but gargleblaster.org has been a “blog” right from the start at may 2002.
I used the rose engine, but the developer pulled the plug.
And two years without further development is too long.
So I went looking for a new one. Movable Type? nah..I don’t like perl. Bloxsom? again perl…
After some googling I arrived at www.wordpress.org. PHP/ Mysql…looking good…xhtml compliant output, css templated design….looking better….download…clickerdeclickerdie hey up and running in 5 minutes.
I’m impressed. And…lazy by nature I went looking for a css template. I found this overview, from which I took Guthenberg.
Some tweaking, some fiddling..tada ready.
Now the migratiion of the rose db to wp database….done (manually, only 64 postings again to lazy to write up a script).
But I’m quite satisfied. Finally I’ve got RSS feed, and I can post from my mobile phone.
I hope you’ll like it to.
